Job Description

About the role

Due to growth within the Organisational Clients division at Moores, we are looking to expand our legal team and are seeking an experienced commercial or regulatory lawyer to serve our clients in the education sector. 

Reporting to Cecelia Irvine-So, the successful candidate will provide legal services in education law comprising regulatory compliance, enrolment, discipline, and student and parent relations for school clients.  Privacy law and/or child safety experience, although not required, are highly desirable skills.

This is an autonomous role, managing end to end matters, however, there will be significant mentoring and development in this unique regulatory space, progressing the successful candidate’s career in a values driven law firm.
 

Desired Skills and Experience

About you 

You are a lawyer with 2 - 7 years post-admission experience. Your previous experience in the education sector, and your strong communication skills, and sound technical skills make you well suited to this role. Lawyers with fewer years of experience but with sector or related sector experience are also encouraged to apply.

You have a practical and commercial approach to issues, are a people person, and have demonstrable experience consistently delighting clients. You will also have had experience working in a team and managing multiple matters.

Other key skills and experience include; 

  • Strong analytical and research skills;
  • Focus on developing and maintaining enduring client relationships;
  • A talent for engaging with people at all levels and working effectively within a team; and
  • Genuine interest in the education sector with its diverse nature and needs.
